Yaroalavl, a capital of Golden Ring Russia, became a world sports arena for a few days. That was the 11^th time than The International Gymnastics Tournament “Yaroslavskaya Vesna” took place here. For 10 years of tournaments more than four thousand gymnasts took part is this event.

The event took place in the sports complex Atlant on the eve of City Day and determined the concept of celebration, which went on under the slogan “Festival Yaroslavl”.

The main aim of tournament was supporting and popularization of children and young people sports.

22-23 July 2500 athletes from around the world will take part the popular trail running Golden Ring Ultra Trail. The marathon will take place in the one-of-a-kind route in Suzdal, a historical heart of Russia. Among runners there are newcomers, famous experienced runners and a participant of Russia Record Book.

Golden Ring Ultra Trail invites participants for the third time this year. During its carrying out, the Suzdal marathon became one of the most visited trails run in Russia. The cause of its high popularity is a unique track, which goes through the rough terrain around Suzdal among more than 300 objects of cultural and historical heritage. While running the sportsmen will see some interesting ancient monuments of Russian architecture and spectacular sights. Golden Ring Ultra Trail is a competition for those, who like bright impressions and emotions, as well as movement freedom.

The main aim of the event is to make popular sports and healthy lifestyle, to attract public attention to Russian historical heritage and charity. The part of entry fees transfers into “The Daunside Up” charity fund.

22 July is a free transfer from Moscow to Suzdal. The meeting point is 2, Bulvar Entuziastov metro Ploschad Ilyicha. The Information Desk will be working during the whole day at Heliopark Hotel, 14, Korovniki, Suzdal, where you can know all the needed information, take part in the leisure activities, buy sports equipment of famous producers. Besides that, on the first day it is planned the runners briefing and participants’ conference.

23 July is a competitions day. The organizers created a variety of tracks for different kinds of runners like newcomers, professionals, veterans, teenagers and family runs with children up to 10.

There are 5 trials by 3, 10, 30, 50 and 100 km. More than 400 sportsmen from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Englang, Germany, The Czech Republic, USA etc. applied to 100 km Ultramarathon Trail Run.

Golden Ring Ultra Trail Expo Exhibition

While sportsmen compete for medals and set new records, their fans and supporters can take part in the exhibition Golden Ring Ultra Trail Expo, which the organizers will perform with the assistance of sponsors.

On this exhibition all comers can meet the trial equipment novelties and purchase them for the personal use.

Golden Ring Ultra Trail 2017 tracks

All the marathon tracks are certified by International Trail Running Association ITRA in accordance with their difficulty level. The track surfaces are asphalt, earth grade, fords, rough terrains, forests, hills. All the tracks are marked with signal tape and pointers. There are arbitrators and marshals on the key points, fords are tested and safe, feeding points are available. Mobile rescue brigades work along the whole route.

The winners will be defined in every race for men and women. All the prize-winners will get the cash reward, the participants get medals and tea-shorts from sponsors. All the child and teens race participants will get prizes without exception. The record holders on every distance will get special cash rewards. “The trial for crazy and not only for them”, “The best sports Festival in Russia” were the reviews on the 5^th Trail Run Elton Ultra Trail, which took place on the one-of-a-kind salted lake Elton in the Volgograd region 27-28 May. The number of participants was more than 350 runners from 55 regions of Russia, FSU and around the world: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Finland, Mexico, Israel, Japan, Ukraine, Estonia, Belgium etc.

The program of marathon

The trail run program had two runs:

• Master 38 km with 7 hours limit for newcomers in general;
• Ultimate 100 miles with 24 hours limit for the experienced runners.

Medical certificate and insurance were obligatory. The age limits were not less than 18 for Master 38 and not less than 21 for Ultimate 100 miles.

In the extremal temperature conditions of Elton lake, which is considered to be the hottest points in Russia, marathon runners had to overcome some prolonged rises, water crossings and series of turns on the desert landscape. There were some checkpoints on the route with the meals, sportsman assistance and the first aid, which were maintained by 150 volunteers of the age from 18 to 80. On the finish line there was the bathe with ice for runners to chill their tired legs.

The event organizers presented a tight schedule of ceremonies, light show, open air cinema, buffet and some concerts.

The marathon winners

Ultramarathon distance run started in the evening 27 May. 86 sportsmen decided to test their strengths on the 2 lap race around the lake Elton. The first half of distance must be completed in less than a half of time limit. It was indispensable condition for continuing.

Only half of runners succeeded in completing the full distance. Some runners dropped out of the race because of bad physical conditions, the others didn’t meet time limit.

The runner who became the winner of the Elton Ultra Trial, was Maksim Voronkov. He overcame the difficult desert route in 14,5 hours. The second prize-winner was Konstantiv Vasiliev, The 3^rd was Ilya Erofeev. The strongest runner among women became Ekaterina Andreytseva. It should be noticed, that Maksim Voronkov and Ekaterina Andreytseva became leaders from the very first kilometers of the distance.

On the mass start Master 38 km, where took part a vast majority of runners, the 1^st result was 2h 33m by Maksin Karamashev from Hakasia, the woman leader was Elena Lebedeva from Saratov.

The winners were awarded with cups, certificates and sponsors’ prizes.

1 April the “Ice Swimmers of the Capital” club conducted the local ice swimmer’s tournament to mark 2-year club anniversary and the closing of winter season 2017. More than 100 professional sportsmen and amateurs took part in swims on the open water. The event was supported by Moscow authorities and co-sponsored by the company Repharm.

All the participants of the competition were provided with a hot meal, sponsored with the orthopedic salons chain “ORTEKA”. The winners and prize-winners were awarded with cups, medals, ice-swimmers’ certificates and prizes, specially designed by organizers with participation of company Repharm.
