The meeting of the IRONSTAR followers gives a unique opportunity to its participants to communicate with people who have made a brilliant career in business and went a thorny road from sofa to triathlon at a time when this sport just started to develop and was not as popular as it is now. These were the pioneers of the Russian triathlon, whose life was completely changed by this sport. They shared tricks and lifehacks with amateurs and answered their questions. The speakers of the open meeting “Everything you wanted to know about the triathlon, but were afraid to ask” were:

• Leonid Boguslavsky, a man who made his first Ironman at 62, founded the Triathlon Super League and makes the Forbes Top 100, told about his way to the triathlon;
• Max Zhurilo, an Ironman six-time finisher, including the extreme triathlon Norseman and Celtman, the founder of the sporting school “I Love Supersport”, shared his experience;
• Andrey Kavun, a manager of the largest series of triathlon starts in Russia – IRONSTAR, told the participants many interesting things about sports and tracks;
• Vladimir Sheikin, a coach of the sporting school “I Love Supersport Triathlon”, IRONSTAR Administrative Director, let the participants into methodology secrets;
• In addition, triathletes Olesya Vishnyakova and Anatoly Leskovets told how to combine a triathlon, work and personal life.

What else could you find out at the meeting of the IRONSTAR friends

At the meeting of IRONSTAR friends there was organized a discussion on the most important and interesting topics for any triathlete:

• why triathlon is a pinnacle of cyclical sports;
• what steps lead to Ironman;
• how to train without stop loving sports;
• about equipment: how to buy only what is necessary and not to run out of money;
• pros and cons of training independently, in a team and with a coach.

The meeting of the IRONSTAR friends suggested not only chatting, there were the other items of the program like refreshments, prize draws, testing of brand products and gifts from sponsors. About the “Connecting the capital” project

The project was organized by the two experienced in long-distance running ultra-marathoners, Anton Valuykin and Alexey Vostrik, together with the Charity Foundation “Love Syndrome”.

The route of the “Connecting Capital” ultramarathon is a path of more than 800 km from the Russian capital to the Belarusian one, which must be completed in 14 days. The everyday limit is 50 km. It is planned to collect an amount of 800,000 rubles to help children during this event.

The project “Connecting capitals” is a big event with a large number of noble tasks:

• the charity;
• the promotion of healthy lifestyle;
• the mass sporting development;
• the sports tourism development;
• the sporting achievements growth stimulating;
• attraction as many people as possible to the sports.

Starting of this charity sporting project will take place on 26 August in the most beautiful architectural complex of the Russian capital, Poklonnaya Gora. The finishing will be a part of the main international sports event in Belarus, the Minsk Half-Marathon.

The SPORT-MARAFON TRAIL Program

The SPORT-MARAFON TRAIL program was scheduled for 2 days. The briefings for the athletes and the EXPO exhibition of sports brands, where Repharm and the other leading sporting producers took part, were held on 16 June. The races and the closing ceremony of the marathon were held on 17 June.

The SPORT-MARAFON TRAIL main feature was that none of the distances had technically difficult areas, windbreaks, untrodden paths, impassable swamps and deep fords. Both amateur marathon runners and experienced athletes, as well as the youngest running fans, felt comfortable here. That was a run for joy, where everyone could enjoy the spectacular landscapes and unusual art-objects.

The organizers provided 5 fabulous routes for the athletes’ choice:

• ROTONDA – 10 km – an excellent track for the trail running beginners, which is passed mostly over the art-park territory;
• MOEBIUS PATH – 35 km – a lucky mixture of human and nature creations. The track ran along the cultural object’s and through the most beautiful places of wild nature;
• FIREBIRD – 56 km – a race where the participants could appreciate the beauty of the Ugra National Park. Forest and field paths, thick green foliage tent, small refreshing fords and the stunning smell of nature — all this allowed the runners to forget the city bustle completely;
• BOBUR – 106 km – this is a real journey into another dimension and another world that fascinates, surprises, and also allows you to take a different look at life and, perhaps, to rethink the own values;
• TНЕ SKY STORMING – KiDS (500 m) – an exciting fun race for the youngest amateurs of sporting and a healthy lifestyle.

The tracks names were similar to the names of the art-objects in Nikola-Lenivets.

Igor Kurtepov about his training and his result on trial

“I ran for 10 hours. I can’t say that I was prepared perfectly, I didn’t have training as such. I don’t recommend anyone to act like this, but it happened to me by chance, I had a harsh competition season before this trial, a 24-hour race and series of trails. I also harmed the hamstrings and despite the rehabilitation trainings my preparation was not complete.

The Polar ointment by Repharm gave me the aid on a track. I anointed my hamstrings with it and solved all my possible problems with legs despite the wet socks and trainers. The distance. Nobody known about 107 km in the hell

Totally about 400 runners started, but GRUT not a simple track so it was predictable that many of them will leave the distance. So, it turned out, on the 69^th km 70 runners left.

First 10 km were quite simple: streets and rare field stretches. Further a real trail zone started with a wet grass, puddles and fords, some of which were a chest-depth. But the main problem was not fording, frequent wide paddles, which couldn’t be bypassed, kept feet wet all the time.

Especially difficult section, a cascade, a series of hills with the extreme altitude gradients, deep slopes and steep climbs. Here was the inner race inside the race with the timing of entering and exit, but I decided to ignore this inner competition and save my strength on the rest of the trial.

The track laid generally in the forest and along the forest edge, the breathtaking sights opened on the riverside, but in the swampy sections the legs drew into a mire up to the knees and it was possible only to crawl.

Every 10 km I ate a gel, on the 55^th km I drank BCAA and 3 Panangin tablets for reducing of catabolic processes. The water needed saving so I sipped it, soaked lips and endured. I didn’t stop on the track, to prevent body from switching into restoring mode because it would be difficult to make it run further.

On the second part of the track the insects appeared, the road became ruined. It was hard to run and impossible not to run.

Finishing and results. Another victory over myself

I can hardly remember the last part of the track, especially last 20 km. Entered Suzdal I boosted a little and here they are: the medal and the rucksack with print “Finisher T100” full of gifts. I instantly drank alcohol-free beer for the liquid balance restoring and took some bathes in a row, the water in the first one became black. The Polar ointment helped me very much. I recommend it to everyone on the trials and long-distance races, spread it on the toes, especially on the nails.
