Ca-regulating Agents for Osteochondrosis Treatment

In recent years, spine diseases have acquired a pandemic character and now they represent a certain medical and social problem. Medical statistics indicate that pain in various spine areas worries every second person after the age of thirty. Osteochondrosis is one of the most common diseases accompanied by pain in the spine area. It accounts for about 70% of cases of pain sense modality.

 

Osteochondrosis: causes and symptoms

Osteochondrosis is a spine disorder, which is associated with the metabolic disorders and dystrophic damage of the intervertebral discs and vertebral tissues.

The causes of disease progression are not fully explored. The most common ones are:

  • sedentary lifestyle;
  • mineral metabolism disorder;
  • improper nutrition;
  • spinal injuries;
  • rough labor;
  • heredity;
  • neurasthenia;
  • harmful addictions (excessive drinking, smoking);
  • excessive weight;
  • constant wearing of uncomfortable shoes.

 

Depending on the area of pathology localization, there are the following types of osteochondrosis: cervical, thoracic or lumbosacral. The aspect of disease and structural spine changes are characterized by four stages and four degrees. The most common symptom of osteochondrosis is severe pain, which can be localized not only in the area of ​​the affected intervertebral disc, but also in the heart, ribs, chest, and abdomen, under the shoulder blades, in the cervical or occipital areas. In addition, among the prominent disease features there are:

  • muscle and general weakness;
  • headache;
  • dizziness;
  • “crepitus” of the affected spine area;
  • respiratory difficulty;
  • numbness of the limbs;
  • gastrointestinal disorders;
  • feeling of “creeping sensation” in certain areas.

If you do not pay the due attention to osteochondrosis treatment, it can result in muscle atrophy, limb paralysis, spinal stroke, intervertebral hernia, sciatica, and various disorders of internal organs functioning.

 

Osteochondrosis treatment: role of Ca-regulators

Osteochondrosis treatment is a complex treatment including drug therapy, physiotherapy, therapeutic exercises and massage. The correct selection of medications will jugulate pain, optimize local blood circulation, relax spasmodic muscles, normalize metabolic processes and spinal functioning, as well as prevent the progression of degenerative changes.
